The city is alive, it's electric.

EDIT: Thank you all so much. I just want to clear up a few things. Yes, this is a real photo, taken with my Digital Rebel and a Tamron 17-35mm lens. The vivid blue color was achieved by altering the color temperature of the raw file in C1 Rebel. I did a slight levels and sharpening in PS 7.

Thanks again everyone. I really appreciate your kind words and support. Special thanks to and

"have you ever transcended space and time?"
"yes...no...just time...no i dont know what your talking about."

The blue, the purple, the fog, in contrast with the red and yellow of the traffic light. Simply amazing. :wow:
brilliant..as always...

Clarity is amazing, very hard to come by on this art site in a photograph, wide angle is also very futuristic.

Did you happen to use any ambient filters? I know of some tonal reds and blues, but the color here is just so very striking and vivid.

The city is most certainly alive!
Thank you! :)

I didn't use any filters. I changed the color temperature of the raw file, and moved the color balance a bit towards blue. That accounted for the color. A slight levels bump for contrast in PS and USM :)

I have to say, there was a strange feeling about the city. It was rather warm, for how cold it's been. Probably 50. Lots of people were out, sort of wandering around in the fog. I guess they were as mesmerized as I was. Fun time :)

I see, I have to say I ventured to this deviation from a friends favorite list, and didnt realize you use digital, I was thinking film. :P

I never worked with raw files, but I can see how you mean, especially if you are able to manipulate the white balance and etc. to achieve such full color.

I was there recently, Sunday actually, I wish I could have spent more time in the city, but I only went and saw Jacobs Field, cause it was right off the interstate.

and again, its a beautiful photograph of the night there. :)
Thank you :) That's very kind of you to say. Now I feel the pressure of trying to live up to that statement :p

Thanks :) I like traffic lights. I think they make the shot more of a streetscape, or a cityscape, rather than just architecture.
